Parakeet Ornaments

Meet Merry (blue) and Sam (green). Their mama me to create felted versions of her beloved baby Lineolated Parakeets. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do nature justice but happily accepted the challenge. I’m pleased with the way they turned out. I’ve actually grown quite attached to them and am having a hard time parting with them!

One of my favorite stories about Merry, after a long day of perching on bookshelves and such indoors, the only phrase that works to get him to fly back in his cage at the end of the day is “Bedtime for Little Merries!” (And, yes, it only works when his name is pluralized!).
