"Riley's Jewelry Box"

My friend asked me to paint a jewelry box for her little daughter, Riley.
She found an unfinished wood jewelry box on Etsy which I ended up staining in a walnut finish before painting the scene.

This jewelry box has a magical secret...........it glows in the dark! Check out the last photo!

This was my first time using glow-in-the-dark paint and loving the result. I can’t actually take credit for the idea since it was my husband, Nick’s idea to use glow paint. He went to the art store himself to buy it for me.

Finally, I applied a couple of coats of clear acrylic stain.
Also added a little tassel/pompom to the tiny little key so it doesn’t get lost.

I’m also including a photo of Riley’s “dream fairy” that I tried to mimic on the top.
